Johnny Hoy and the Blue Fish
Roots Blues, Country, Rockabilly
The email below is from a fan and it sums up what Martha's
Vineyard's roots-rocking 'Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish' is all about.
The band has played their distinctive mix for almost 20 years, and the
current incarnation featuring Johnny Hoy on harp and vocals, guitarist
Mike Dinallo of 'Radio Kings' fame. Jeremy Berlin on keys and drummer
Chris Anzalone have been together more than half that time.
With five CDs to their credit and another in the works, Johnny Hoy and
the Bluefish have made fans around the country and the world, though
they are most often found playing around New England. The shows are
raucous affairs with a lot of dancing, and you never know when Johnny
might hit the floor or jump on a table to get his point across.
“These guys truly hit the nail on the head better than most other
pro touring blues/roots bands I've seen, and I've seen plenty in my 51
years. I think a lot has to do with the energy, soul and ability
for the band to mix it up - Chicago Blues, Rockabilly, good old
R&B, Cajun flavored off beat stuff - I love it all.”
