Manolo Mairena is a New England based salsa singer and conguero who originally hails from Costa Rica. He counts Oscar D'Leon, Orquesta Reve, and Maraca among his favorite artists, and with his debut CD release, Mi Oportunidad, and a brand new one on hand, he should definitely be getting the opportunity he deserves. Blending old school and hard core salsa with a strong influence of Afro-Cuban contemporary music the stage is set for a dance fest. Mairena is active on the Boston scene, having played with La Clave Secreta, Mango Blue, Balaton, and others. On bass will be the multi-talented Latino entrepreneur and patron d' art, Alex Alvear.
